Tell Your Story - Our Process

We begin by asking questions.

Why are you making this video? Who is the intended audience? What would they want to know about you and what do you want to say? The answers will guide us as we start to assemble the pieces and elements of your story into a theme.

Suggestions on how to get started include looking at photo albums, diaries and journals and talking to your family and friends to help you remember favorite stories you’d like to share. Don't forget to Contact Us for a free copy of "How to Start Saving Your Memories for the Future" for more ideas.

Next we schedule a video interview in your home.

Because we’ll be talking about all your familiar stories, there’s no need for memorizing. We’ll prompt you with reminder questions and make it very comfortable and easygoing for everyone. Even “camera shy” people quickly get into the spirit and have a good time.

We can also edit your family photos into the video with your narration. This adds an extra touch to help tell the story. If you prefer, we can also convert your photos into a "Slideshow" DVD or CD of your photos with just music or music and your narration. (See an example here.)

Thank you again for the video you did of Ed. What a lovely keepsake. You did a really terrific job of assembling all the pictures, plus the music. I can't thank you enough. --Minerva Hawkins, Grand Rapids, MI

Back at our studio we edit the video,

along with the photos and your choice of music and titles. A copy of the first edit is provided to you for review and to note any changes you’d like.

After any necessary editing, the final presentation is transferred onto a beautifully-packaged, custom labeled DVD – one for you and copies for giving away. We strongly recommend DVD because they last so much longer, but VHS tapes are also available on request.

Once completed, it’s easy to update your video lifestory

by adding video, audio or other material in the future. Special repeat customer pricing applies. Of course, extra copies of your finished production are available at any time, with discounts for quantity orders.

Take a look at some of our completed productions on our Gallery page for examples.
